If a Video CD has "playback control" written on its disc or jacket, it means that particular scenes or information can be selected for viewing interactively with the TV monitor using the menu screen.

Basic Playback (Cont'd) Stopping Play
Press STOP during playback.
Resume Play
G When play is stopped, the unit memorizes the point where STOP was pressed (RESUME function). Press PLAY and playback will resume from this point. Notes
This operation works only with discs for which the elapsed playing time appears in the DVD display window during stop. Resume function will be cleared when the STOP is pressed on the STOP mode. You can repeat above procedure until desired picture quality appears. G Procedure of video mode is changed; Video1 Video2 Film Adapt Auto. G If you turn off the the power, the video mode will be back to initial state (Auto).
Detailed Description of each Video Mode
Auto : The image material types of the DVD video (film material or video material) are distinguished by this player based on the disc information. Video1 : Suitable for playing the disc of video material which has comparatively few movements. Video2 : Suitable for playing the disc of video material which has comparatively many movements. Film : Suitable for playing the disc of film material or of video material recorded by the progressive scan method. Adapt : Decides the material type (film or video) by playing the disc, and switches the modes. Suitable for playing the disc mixed of film and video material.

G The image advances (or reverses) is relatively slow at first. When the button is pressed again, the speed increases. (Each time the button is pressed, the speed increases up to 4 steps (DVD) or 3 steps (CD/Video CD). ) G The speed will be maintained even after the button is released.
To return to normal playback, press PLAY.
Note
The DVD player does not play back sound during high speed reverse and forward playback of DVD video discs.
