Trimble recommends that you connect the SNM910 cellular modem to the SNB900 radio-modem and configure it as a rebroadcaster in the office before mobilization.

Inserting the SIM card
Note The SIM card can be easily damaged if you scratch or bend it. Take care when inserting and removing the card. When inserting or removing a SIM card, ensure that the modem is in a dust-free environment. The SNM910 cellular modem must not be connected to power when you insert the SIM card as this may damage the SIM card. Before inserting the SIM card, turn off the SNB900 radio-modem, disconnect the power cable and then remove the modem from the bracket. Insert the SIM card in the direction shown by the arrow on the casing:

Push the SIM card into the slot and then release it. Replace the SIM slot cover and tighten it securely.

Attaching the bracket
The mounting bracket is required to hold the SNM910 cellular modem in place and enables you to mount the combined unit correctly. Do not connect the modem to an SNB900 without using the bracket. Remove the rubber end caps on the host device. Use the four provided screws to attach the bracket to the host device. Replace the rubber end caps.

Office configuration
After the bracket is attached and the SIM card installed, attach the SNM910 cellular modem to the host device: 1. Turn off the power on the SNB900 radio-modem. Slide the SNM910 cellular modem into the supporting bracket and ensure that the 26-pin connector correctly connects with the host device. Connect adapter P/N 57158 to the 26-pin connector on the modem and then connect the power cable to the adapter. Use a cross-over Ethernet cable to connect a laptop running the Windows® operating system to the adapter and then turn on the SNB900 radio.

Note The laptop must not have any existing wireless or wired ethernet connections.
