Checkout
GENERAL
This section contains instructions for the checkout and troubleshooting of the TA-12 after it has been installed on the aircraft. More detailed operating instructions may be found in the FMS Pilots Operating Handbook.

INSTALLATION CHECKOUT
After all TA-12 aircraft interface wiring is complete, it is desirable to perform a final wiring configuration verification before initially installing and connecting the TA-12 LRUs. CAUTION Destruction of the TA-12 equipment could result if a wiring error in the power input circuits of the TA-12 is not detected and corrected, prior to installing the units. Refer to Figures 2-1 and 2-2 for connector pin configuration. Perform the following installation verification tests before initial installation of TA-12 LRUs. Use correct size pin adapters to monitor leads at each connector. Remove power from all aircraft systems interfacing with the TA-12 prior to performing ohmmeter checks.

Continuity Checks
Using Figure 2-2, TA-12 RPU (P/N 24835-10) Installation and Pin-out Diagram, verify continuity between each TA-12 pin and its opposite end termination. Resolve all discrepancies in continuity checks > 1 ohm before continuing.

Resistance Checks
If any appreciable resistance is detected when performing above continuity checks, a poor connection may be indicated. Correct condition and re-verify continuity.

No Shorts to Ground Checks
Check resistance to ground of each connector pin with ohmmeter set to highest scale. When a path to ground is detected, verify its validity with Figures 2-1 and 2-2. [. . . ] Energy Lightning Induced Transient Lightning Direct Icing
