WAYPOINTS (INSERT, MODIFY, REMOVE)
Waypoints can be created (inserted), modified or removed. To add a waypoint, the user can either double-click on the insertion point in the flight plan or highlight the insertion point and then click the INSERT button. The user must fill out the dialog box and then select OK. To modify an existing waypoint, the user highlights the desired waypoint and selects the MODIFY button. To remove a waypoint, the user clicks on the desired waypoint in the list box to highlight it and selects the REMOVE button. 6. 2. 1 Waypoint Identifier Waypoint Identifier is a free form text field limited to five characters. The identifier of the waypoint is usually entered here (i. e. : ARD for Ardmore). 6. 2. 2 Latitude and Longitude Latitude values must begin with either N or S (case is ignored), Longitude values must begin with either E or W (case is ignored). Latitude values are of the form dd. mm. hh where dd is degrees from 0 to 90, mm is minutes from 0 to 60, and hh is hundredths of minutes from 0 to 99. Longitude values are of the form ddd. mm. hh where ddd is degrees from 0 to 180, mm is minutes from 0 to 60, and hh is hundredths of minutes from 0 to 99. Negative and positive values are indicated using N/S and E/W. Entry format for latitudes and longitudes is somewhat flexible. Delimiters are required for entry of minutes and hundredths, but can be omitted if only entering degrees. OPEN, SAVE, AND NEW
The three buttons at the top of the Main Dialog box control how the user creates, opens and saves flight plans. 6. 3. 1 New To create a new Flight Plan, click the NEW button. Type a flight plan name in the Flight Plan Name box. Click the INSERT button located in the Waypoint List section. The Insert Waypoint dialog box will be displayed. Enter a Waypoint Identifier and the appropriate Latitude and Longitude. Select the OK button to insert the waypoint into the flight plan. Repeat the steps to enter any other waypoints. [. . . ] 10. 4. 1 Prediction Run During a prediction run, the progress bar corresponding to the current prediction run will grow from left to right. Upon completion, outages will be reflected in the three boxes in the top of the Prediction Run Results section of the dialog box. These boxes are entitled NAV, RAIM and FDE, each of which contains a running count of the number of each type of outage. Note that you can stop the run at any time by clicking the CANCEL button located in the bottom right section of the dialog box. [. . . ]
