[. . . ] Boot To OS/2 Set this option to Yes if you are running an OS/2 operating system and using more than 64 MB of system memory on the motherboard. System BIOS Cacheable When set to Enabled, the contents of the F0000h system memory segment can be read from or written to cache memory. The contents of this memory segment are copied from the BIOS ROM to system RAM for faster execution. Processor Serial Number This function activates the Processor Serial Number. Default setting is Disabled. S2056 Tomcat i810e BIOS 45 Chapter 3 BIOS Configuration C000 Shadow 64K These options specify how the 64 KB of video ROM at C0000h is treated. The settings are: Se tting Disabled Enabled Cached D e s cription The contents of the video RO M are not copied to RAM. The contents of the video RO M area from C000h- C7FFFh are copied (shadowed) from RO M to RAM for faster execution. The contents of the video RO M area from C000h- C7FFFh are copied from RO M to RAM and can be written to or read from cache memory. D000 Shadow 64K These options enable shadowing of the contents of the ROM area named in the option. The ROM area not used by ISA adapter cards is allocated to PCI adapter cards. The contents of the designated RO M area are copied (shadowed) from RO M to RAM for faster execution. CPU Latency Timer This option only appears if the USB Function option is set to Enable. The settings are as follows: http://www. tyan. com 48 Setting Enabled Disabled Description The CPU cycle is only deferred after being held in Snoop Stall for 31 clocks and after another ADS# signal has arrived. The CPU cycle is deferred immediately after receiving another ADS# signal. DRAM Page Closing Policy The settings are Closed or Open. If set to Closed, DRAM pages tend to be closed after use. If set to Open, DRAM pages tend to be left open.
