Setting a Personal Security Code To play your messages from a remote location, you will need to enter a two-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) code (00-99). You can set the ring time to answer after two, four, or six rings. Setting (Toll Saver), the answering system picks up after two rings if you have new messages, and after four rings if there are none. This way, if you make a long distance call to check your messages, you can hang up after the second ring to avoid billing charges. NOTE: Installation Considerations Selecting a Location Before choosing a location for your new phone, there are some important guidelines you should consider: · The location should be close to both a phone jack and continuous power outlet. (A continuous power outlet is an AC outlet which does not have a switch to interrupt its power. ) · Keep the base and handset away from sources of electrical noise such as motors or fluorescent lighting. · Be sure there is sufficient space to fully extend the base antenna.
