To protect you against misbilled calls which might result from your phone being activated by other equipment, the EXT1965/EXT1165 has Random Code TM digital security which automatically selects one of over 65, 000 digital security codes for the handset and base. Also, the AutoSecure TM feature electronically locks your phone when the handset is in the base. [. . . ] Use redial/p to enter pause in the dialing sequence. Each pause counts as one digit and represents a two second delay of time between the digits. The handset beeps and displays the confirmation screen. For example, if you store a name and number into memory location number 7, the display shows ¨Memory 7 Stored¨. After about 2 seconds, ¨Memory Store¨ is displayed. Repeat steps 2 - 7 to store more numbers. 8) Press memory to return to standby mode.

Making Calls with Memory Dialing
Memory dialing from Standby Mode 1) Press memory. The handset displays your programmed memory locations. 2) Press w and v or enter the number (0 - 9) to select the memory location you would like to dial. ¨Talk¨ and the volume setting appear on the display. After about 2 seconds, ¨Memory Store¨ is displayed. 9) Press memory to return to standby mode.

Erasing a Stored Name and Phone Number
1) Press and hold memory until ¨Memory Store¨ is displayed. 2) Press v and w or enter a number (0 - 9) to select the memory location you would like to edit. The following screen appears with the memory location number that you have selected in the display. 4) Press w to move the pointer down to ¨Delete
