Use the Code Entry or Code Scanning method to program the remote control. Using the Code entry method may be quicker, but you'll need to know the correct manufacturer's control codes for each component you want to operate. Code scanning may be more time-consuming, but you don't need to know manufacturer's control codes. Keep your remote control aimed at the device you want to control during this process. Press the SAT button to lock in the code. Point the remote control at the receiver. The number to the right of the highlighted Remote ID menu button will change to the new code. Check that the ID has been successfully set by testing the remote control to see that it controls that satellite receiver.
