Using the Menu Mode
The Menu mode allows you to set the following Answering System functions. · To scroll through the menu options, repeatedly press menu on the base in the standby mode. The system returns to standby after the last menu option. A confirmation tone sounds to indicate the standby mode. (talk) · If you press talk/flash or spkr on the handset, or or on the base during the menu setup, the operation will be canceled. · The idle time default setting is 30 seconds. If the system remains idle for 30 seconds, you will hear a beep and the system returns to standby. · You can use ^ or v to adjust the announcement volume level during a voice prompt/guidance. · If there is an incoming call, the operation is canceled. · When you have completed the setting, press to exit the menu mode, or menu to move to the next menu option.
For your convenience, voice prompts will guide you through the menu setup mode.
· If you press ^ in the maximum volume level (9) or v in lowest volume level (0), you will hear a beep. · Press and hold ^ or v on the base to scroll quickly through the volume levels.

Setting the Time
The clock on the answering system starts when power is supplied to the base. Follow these steps to set the clock to the correct time.
· Normally the idle time for the menu mode is 30 seconds before the system returns to standby. However, for setting the time, the idle time is extended to two minutes. · Press and hold or to quickly scroll through the numbers on the display.
1) Press menu. The message counter displays the day of the week (from " " Sunday to " " Saturday). 2) Press or until the correct day is announced and the corresponding number appears. 4) Press or until you hear the correct hour setting. The numbers " " through " " appear on the base as each hour is announced. 6) Press or until you hear the correct minute setting. The numbers " " through " " appear on the base as each minute is announced. 7) Press set/ringer to select the minute. 8) Press or until you hear the correct AM or PM setting. [. . . ] Do not use an outlet controlled by a wall switch. Use only the Uniden AC Adapter supplied with this phone.
