Notes for confirmation tones
If audio playback is via an audio system, no confirmation tones will be output via the audio system when buttons are pressed on the remote control. However, confirmation tones will be output if the basic settings are applied (e. g. when an attempt is made to establish a link or if the system is reset).

Function
The CIX 3000 Blue Bluetooth hands-free terminal offers a variety of options for installing a hands-free unit in your vehicle with minimum effort - you do not even need a cable for the mobile phone. Depending on the system configuration, you can control the basic functions of the mobile phone either using the IR remote control provided or - in conjunction with the CI 3000 - via a VDO Dayton navigation system. Audio playback is via the loudspeaker provided or via an optional accessory cable on VDO Dayton radios and radio navigation systems or other radio systems with telephone input.

Basic functions
s Selecting the Bluetooth profile Switch on the ignition to activate the hands-free terminal. Press the p and H buttons on the remote control to toggle between the "headset" and "hands-free" Bluetooth profiles. The hands-free profile is set as the default setting. An audible signal confirms that the profile has changed and will remain active until the next change: Hands-free profile activated: 3 high tones Headset profile activated: 3 low tones Important note: We recommend that you use the hands-free profile if it is supported by your mobile phone. This profile was developed specifically for use with hands-free units (e. g. for optimum echo and noise suppression). If you are using the headset profile, the range of functions supported will vary depending on the mobile phone. See section "Making and receiving calls with the headset profile". s Link between the mobile phone and the CIX 3000 Blue ("pairing" mode) In order to be able to use the mobile phone with the CIX 3000 Blue hands-free terminal, the terminal must be logged onto the CIX 3000 Blue. This procedure only needs to be carried out once. [. . . ] · Replace the empty battery with a full CR 2025 type battery. Fuse-element strips not removed in remote control battery compartment. · Remove the fuse-element strips from the battery compartment.
