[. . . ] Do not use : Rain water, water from the fridge, water from any evaporating appliance, water produced by a condenser tumble drier, water supplied by your water softener if it is indicating the need for regenerating salts (incompatibility with th EMC system). Choosing your water You can use either tap water or distilled water for irons. Depending upon the calcium level contained in your tap water as well as upon your weekly ironing time (average time : 2/3 hours), it can be more economical to use distilled water for irons (not for car batteries). In this case, your cartridge should last up to 1 year (depending on the volume of your ironing and on the quantity of steam you ask for). Ventilate the strip for a few seconds and wait for the result approximately 1 minute. 1 or 1 1/2 mauve square : you can use tap water. 2 or more mauve squares : we advise you to use distilled water for irons. Air must be able to circulate freely underneath the machine to ensure correct ventilation. B If you use a wooden ironing board or table to iron on, remember to protect it from humidity (water condensation) by covering it with an oilcloth for example. We recommend that you iron articles in the order indicated on the iron's thermostat control so that the temperature gradually increases. NOISE To ensure regular steam output performance, your unit is equipped with an pump which is activated each time the steam trigger is pressed. STORAGE • When you have finished ironing, unplug the power cable and let the machine cool down. You can then store it flat, without having to empty the water container. € If you lie the machine on its side, water from the container may spill out. CHANGING THE ANTI-SCALE CARTRIDGE EMC : Electronic mineral control The electronic EMC system controls the efficiencyof the anti-scale cartridge by constantly monitoring the mineral content of the filtered water. The EMC system therefore eliminates any risk of scaling. Pilot light for anti-scale cartridge change Pilot light indicating that anti-scale cartridge must be changed. When the anti-scale cartridge becomes exhausted, the EMC system activates the warming light telling you that the cartridge must be changed. If the anti-scale cartridge is not changed, then soon after, steam generation will be stopped automatically by the EMC system. The warning light will then remain permanently on. To produce steam again, either the anti-scale cartridge must be changed or distilled water must be used. After changing the cartridge, the unit must be turned off and on in order to recreate normal operating conditions ANTI-SCALE CARTRIDGE The reference number to order anti-scale cartridges for this irons is 410 057. [. . . ] Once worn out, your electrical device should not be disposed of with your usual household refuse. Use a pair of pliers to cut the electric cable to prevent it from being re-used. Dispose of the device at an approved collection centre in the container provided for this purpose so that it can be re-processed. If you have a battery-operated device or an apparatus fitted with a remote control system, remove the batteries and dispose of these at the approved location. [. . . ]
