Thank you for purchasing the VTECH® LITTLE SMART BugsyTM learning toy!This product is one of a family of high quality LITTLE SMART® electronic learning toys. We at VTECH® are committed to providing the best possible products to entertain and educate your child. [. . . ] Do not use batteries of different types. Remove exhausted or new batteries from the learning toy when it will not be used for an extended period of time. Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES NOTE: If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow these steps: 1) Please turn the unit OFF. 2) Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries. 3) Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries. The unit should now be ready to play again. If the problem persists, please call our Consumer Services Department at 1-800-521-2010 in the U. S. , or 1-800-267-7377 in Canada, and a service representative will be happy to help you. WARNING: This product is not to be submerged in water. To clean BugsyTM, wipe the surface material with a damp cloth.

TO BEGIN PLAY
1. Press the ON/OFF BUTTON ( ) on the front right leg once to turn the unit ON. Press the ON/OFF BUTTON ( ) on the front right leg again to turn the unit OFF. Bugsy's antennae light-up with all sounds and melodies.
AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the LITTLE SMART BugsyTM learning toy will turn off automatically after several minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the ON/OFF BUTTON. 5
ACTIVITIES
ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Press one of the embroidered SHAPE BUTTONS to hear the color and shape identified followed by a short tune.
2. Press the MUSIC NOTE BUTTON on the front left leg to hear melodies played at a slower speed.
