SAFEGUARDING THE ENVIRONMENT 1. Packing The packing material is 100% recyclable and bears the recycling symbol. Follow the local regulations for disposal of the packaging. [. . . ] Wrap and seal the fresh food in: aluminium foil, clear film, impermeable plastic bags, polyethylene containers with lids, special freezer containers. • The food to be stored must be fresh, ripe and of the best quality. • Fresh vegetables and fruit must be frozen immediately after purchase, so as to retain the nutritive value, structure, consistency, colour and flavour. Meat and game must be hung before freezing. • Note: • Always cool hot food before freezing. • Defrosted or partially defrosted food must be consumed immediately. Do not refreeze food unless you cook it and prepare individual servings first. Once cooked, the defrosted food can be frozen again. Freezing and storing food • • Place the food to be frozen in the freezer compartments (see enclosed product chart). Ice packs (if present) must be placed in the space provided (see enclosed product chart). Important: For information regarding periods of food storage, refer to the adjacent table. Classification of frozen foods. Place the frozen products in the freezer and classify them. It is advisable to indicate the storage date on the package, in order to ensure consumption within the "best before" date. 13 HOW TO OPERATE THE FREEZER Storage of frozen foods. When buying frozen foods, make sure that: • The wrapping or the package is intact or the food may deteriorate. If the package is swollen or has damp patches, it may not have been stored under optimal conditions and thawing may have already begun. Frozen foods should always be purchased last and thermal bags must be used for transport. Once you are home, place the frozen foods immediately in the freezer. Never refreeze partially thawed foods, use them within 24 hours. Avoid or reduce temperature variations to a minimum. Follow the instructions regarding the "best before" date on the pack. Always follow the instructions on the pack regarding storage of frozen foods. • • • • • Removal of the drawers • Pull the drawer outwards as far as it will go, lift slightly and extract it. Note: The freezer can also be used without the drawers, in order to obtain greater volume. Check that the load does not exceed the limitations indicated. Making ice cubes • • • Fill the ice cube tray 2/3 full of water and place it in the freezer compartment. If the tray is stuck to the freezer bottom, do not use pointed or sharp objects to remove it. In order to order to remove the ice cubes with ease, bend the tray slightly. Note: Reopening the freezer door will be difficult immediately after it has been shut. Wait for two or three minutes, so that the slight vacuum in the freezer is eliminated. 14 CARE AND MAINTENANCE 0.
