[. . . ] • If the appliance is damaged, do not use it, but unplug it from the mains and contact After-sales Service. • The glass ceramic hob has good mechanical resistance and is designed to withstand minor accidents and incorrect usage; however, if an object falls on it and damages the surface, do not use the hob. Disconnect it from the electrical power supply and call the nearest After- sales Service. • Do not use the hob as a work surface. [. . . ] • Avoid scratching the surface of the hob with the bottom of pots and pans. • To obtain the best cooking results, it is advisable to use flatbottomed stainless steel pots and pans. The diameter of the bottom must be equal to that of the hotplate or slightly greater. • Take steps to prevent sugar and other sugary ingredients such as jam, jelly and juice, from coming into contact with the hotplates. If you do have a spill, clean the hob thoroughly right away, following the cleaning instructions. • If the hob is fitted with halogen lamps, do not stare at them.

USING THE HOB
The hotplates are clearly marked on the hob. The hotplates are switched on, adjusted and switched off again by turning the knobs on the oven in a clockwise direction. Next to the 4 knobs are numbers from 0 to 12 or 10. Each number corresponds to a power output level for cooking. The hob features 4 luminous residual heat indicators; these light up to indicate that the temperature of the hotplates is still high. The residual heat indicators light up as soon as the hotplates reach a temperature high enough to cause burns. Should any sugar spill onto the hob, clean it up immediately, otherwise it will melt on the hot surface of the hob.
