Glass lid (optional) - Do not close the glass lid when the burners are still hot and when the oven, installed below the hob, is on or still hot. - Do not lay hot pans or heavy objects on the hob lid. [. . . ] Do not use abrasive or corrosive products, chlorine products or steel wool. Do not leave acid or alkaline substances, such as vinegar, salt or lemon juice, etc. , on the cooking hob. Electric hot plates x Clean when the plates are warm. x Wipe with a cloth moistened with water and salt. x To avoid rust formation, always dry the hot plates carefully and wipe over with an oily cloth. Stainless steel surface Clean with a specific commercial product. Note: prolonged use of the cooking hob may result in slight discoloration of the stainless steel surface around the hot plates due to high temperatures. x TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE The hot plates do not heat up. Checks: x is the temperature control knob turned to the desired position?x is there a power failure? AFTER-SALES SERVICE Before you call the After-sales Service: 1. Carefully check the “Troubleshooting Guide” to see if you can fix the problem yourself. Switch the appliance off and then on again to check whether correct operation has been restored. If the problem persists, call After-sales Service. Specify: x the nature of the fault x the model x the service number (i. e. , the number that follows the word SERVICE on the rating plate under the hob and on the guarantee). x your full address x your telephone number and area code. 43 M 43 Y N C INSTALLATION To fit the cooking hob into a worktop, an opening must be made as indicated in the diagram. Note that: - there must be a space of at least 30 mm between the underside of the cooking hob and the upper part of any appliance or shelf under the worktop. - allow at least 50 mm between the sides of the cooking hob and the side walls of adjacent column units etc. . - the distance to the wall behind the cooking hob must be at least 50 mm. - wall cupboards or an extraction hood, if present, must be at least 650 mm above the hob. [. . . ] - When the appliance is installed, the switch or socket must always be accessible. Do not make the mains connection using adapters or extension leads: risk of overheating and fire.
