Using the refrigerator compartment
Position the food as shown in the figure: A Cooked food B Vegetables (if provided) C Fish, meat D Fruit and vegetables E Bottles F Cheese
Notes: • The space between the shelves and the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment must be unobstructed to allow circulation of air. • Do not place food in direct contact with the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment. • Do not place hot food in the refrigerator. • Store liquids in closed containers. Important: Storing vegetables with high water content can cause condensation to form in the crisper; this will not affect the correct operation of the appliance. 18
HOW TO USE THE FRESHBOX
The appliance is equipped with a separate box for optimum storage of Meat and Fish. The temperature inside the box is approximately 3-5° C lower than in other parts of the refrigerator compartment. This enables considerably prolonged storage of fresh food (meat and fish) without the need to freeze. Furthermore, food retains its original freshness and nutritional properties. Do not store fruit or vegetables in this box, since the temperature may drop below 0° C, causing water contained in the food to freeze.
Temperature indicator
• • The temperature inside the box is displayed on an indicator on the box door (Fig. 1). If the package is swollen or has damp patches, it may not have been stored under optimal conditions and defrosting may have already begun. When shopping, leave frozen food purchases until last and transport the products in a thermally insulated cool bag. Place the items in the freezer compartment as soon as you get home. If food has defrozen even partially, do not refreeze it. reduce temperature variations to the minimum. Respect the best-before date on the package.
Power failure alarm
The function activates automatically in the event of a prolonged power failure; the temperatures in the compartments increase to values that do not ensure safe storage of food. In this case the acoustic alarm activates and the red led associated with the button (F) flashes. In these circumstances, it is necessary to evaluate the state of the food stored in the refrigerator and freezer before using it. The alarm can be muted by pressing the button (F). In any case, the selections and operating conditions set beforehand are reinstated automatically after the power failure.
