It will prove difficult to open the lid immediately after closing it because the hermetic seal means there is a partial vacuum inside the freezer. Wait a few minutes before re-opening the lid. • • After connecting the freezer to the power supply make sure the fast freeze button is not pressed. Temperature adjustment You can adjust freezer temperature as follows: • Turn the thermostat knob x to position e to set the highest (least cold) storage temperature. • Turn the thermostat knob x to position 5 to set the lowest (coldest) storage temperature. • When the freezer is only partially full, it is advisable to set the thermostat to lower positions (towards position “e”, if indicated on the thermostat scale). Energy saving tips • • • • • • • Do not install the appliance in places exposed to direct sunlight or near heat sources. Do not obstruct the ventilation grille or the air circulation openings. Remove accumulated dust from the rear of the appliance at least once a year. Use the thermostat to select the ideal storage temperature. Restrict the number of times you open the lid. Do not store liquids in glass containers in the freezer: risk of bursting. Do not eat ice cubes or ice lollies immediately after taking them out of the freezer: risk of “cold” burns. Do not allow children to play or hide inside the freezer: risk of becoming trapped inside and suffocating. Keep the keys in a separate place and out of reach of children: risk of children becoming locked inside the appliance. Do not ingest the contents (non-toxic) of the ice packs. Before cleaning or carrying out maintenance, always unplug the appliance or switch off the power supply. The power cable must only be replaced by authorised personnel. FREEZING FOOD Only use the freezer for storing frozen food, freezing fresh food and production of ice cubes. PREPARATION OF FRESH FOOD FOR FREEZING • Wrap and seal the fresh food in: aluminium foil, plastic wrap, cling film, polyethylene containers with lids, provided they are suitable for freezing foods. Food must be fresh, mature and of prime quality in order to obtain high quality frozen food. Fresh vegetables and fruit should preferably be frozen as soon as they are picked to maintain the full original nutritional value, consistency, colour and flavour.
