Check that the static water level on the exhaust housing is low enough to prevent water entry into the powerhead, when water rises due to waves when the outboard is not running. Check that the battery is in good condition and the battery connections are secure. EMU27221 Operation after a long period of storage When operating the engine after a long period (12 months) of storage, proceed as follows: 1. Leave it idling.
