Setting Up
SPECIAL MESSAGE SECTION
This product utilizes batteries or an external power supply (adapter). DO NOT connect this product to any power supply or adapter other than one described in the manual, on the name plate, or specifically recommended by Yamaha. This product should be used only with the components supplied or; a cart, rack, or stand that is recommended by Yamaha. If a cart, etc. , is used, please observe all safety markings and instructions that accompany the accessory product. [. . . ] In this way, you can play a song as though it were in C major, and the instrument will transpose it to the key of F.
Tuning
You can fine tune the pitch of the entire instrument. The overall tuning of the instrument can be shifted up or down by a maximum of 100 cents in 1-cent increments (100 cents = 1 semitone).

Voice Settings
Octave
The pitch of a note can be shifted upward or downward in steps of an octave.
One Touch Setting
Sometimes selecting the ideal Voice to play with a Song or Style can be confusing. The One Touch Setting feature automatically selects the most suitable Voice for you when you select a Style or Song. Simply select Voice number "000" to activate this feature. Press the [VOICE] button, and then select Voice number "000" by using the number buttons [0][9], [+], [-].

Voice Settings
Setting the Metronome Time Signature
A chime will sound on the first beat of each measure, while a metronome click will sound on all others. You can also set the time signature to "00, " in which case the chime will not sound and the click sound will be heard on all beats.

This procedure allows you to adjust the balance between Style playback and the notes you play on the keyboard by setting the volume of the playback sound.

Looking up Chords Using the Chord Dictionary
The Dictionary function is essentially a built-in "chord dictionary" that shows you the individual notes of chords. It is ideal when you know the name of a certain chord and want to quickly learn how to play it.

Try playing a chord in the auto accompaniment section of the keyboard, checking the indications in the display. When you've played the chord properly, a bell sound signals your success and the chord name in the display flashes.
