NOTE: Brake system: G After disassembling the master cylinder or caliper cylinder, always change the brake fluid. Regularly check the brake fluid level and add fluid if necessary. G Replace the oil seals of the master cylinder and caliper cylinder every two years. G Replace the brake hose every four years, or if cracked or damaged. 42 Periodic maintenance ESU12770 Tool kit The owner's tool kit has the tools which are sufficient for most periodic maintenance and minor repairs. A torque wrench is also necessary to properly tighten nuts and bolts. 1. Tool kit ECS00760 CAUTION: Before starting the engine, make sure that the storage pouch zipper is closed completely. 1. Shroud NOTE: If you do not have a torque wrench available during a service operation requiring one, take your snowmobile to a Yamaha dealer to check the torque settings and adjust them if necessary. ESU12780 To install the shroud Hook the end of the shroud onto the front cover, insert the projections on the shroud into the slots in the headlight stay, and then tighten the fasteners. Turn the adjusting bolt in or out until the specified throttle cable free play is obtained. 1. Spark plug reach Before installing any spark plug, measure the electrode gap with a wire thickness gauge and adjust to specification. Spark plug gap: 0. 7­0. 8 mm (0. 028­0. 031 in) 1. G Make sure that the throttle lever moves smoothly. G Do not rev the engine to the point that the clutch engages, otherwise the snowmobile could start moving, which could cause an accident. 1.
