Slightly tilt up the engine until the tiltsupport bar automatically returns to the free position. DN UP 000610 3-30 E EMH60010 CRUISING IN OTHER CONDITIONS CRUISING IN SALT WATER After operating in salt water, wash out the cooling-water passages with fresh water to prevent them from becoming cloggedup with salt deposits. NOTE: Refer to cooling system flushing instructions in "TRANSPORTING AND STORING OUTBOARD MOTOR". Install the outboard motor on the water tank. Fill the tank with fresh water to above the level of the anti-cavitation plate. Run the engine at a fast idle for 10~15 minutes. Just prior to turning off the engine, quickly spray "Yamaha Stor-Rite Engine Fogging Oil" (Part No. LUBSTRRT-12-00) into the silencer cover. When properly done, the engine will smoke excessively and almost stall. 4-6 E 6) Remove the motor from the water tank. Spray a Yamaha "Stor-Rite Engine Fogging Oil" into each cylinder for 10 seconds. Grease the spark plug threads and reinstall the spark plug(s) and torque to proper specification.
