Use only distilled water if refilling is necessary. Turn the engine switch to the "STOP" position to prevent accidental short circuiting. Install the battery on the battery mount tray securely. NOTE: Clamp the red wire to the positive (+) terminal first, then the black wire to the negative (­) terminal of the battery. Do not reverse these positions. e w q 762-005 Be sure to service battery leads to prevent arcing when the battery is not installed. 9 Disconnect the battery charging output lead.
