Some of these items are designed to be dealer assembled or installed. Please make sure that benches are stable and any optional fixtures (where applicable) are well secured BEFORE using. benches supplied by Yamaha are designed for seating only. [. . . ] In addition to the normal precautions you should observe with any piano, as described in the piano manual, please take special note of the following: Water and electricity can be a dangerous combination. Do not stand flower vases on the Silent Series grand piano: the risk of spilled water is too great. When cleaning the Silent Series grand piano, avoid spraying aerosol furniture polishes or similar onto the electrical parts of the instrument. To clean the control panel, use a soft dry cloth. Keep the AC adaptor and power cord away from areas where it may be walked on or tripped over. Do not stand furniture or other heavy objects on the power cord. To use the "silent" feature of your Silent Series grand piano, you must connect the piano to an AC (mains) supply. Plug the other end of the adaptor into the DC IN socket at the rear of the control box (1) (see page 35). Fasten the cable from the AC adaptor to the retainer clips to prevent the Silent Series grand piano from being accidentally disconnected if it is moved, or if the cable is tugged. There are two clips under the piano near the control box (2). Always use the supplied YAMAHA AC Adaptor to power your Silent Series grand piano. If you are only using one pair of headphones, plug them into either socket. nOTE: The headphones supplied with your Silent Series grand piano have been shown to give the best results. Other headphones may be used, but for optimum results we recommend the use of YAMAHA HPE-170 headphones. Play a few experimental notes, and use the volume control on the front to adjust the volume (clockwise for louder, counterclockwise for quieter). Reverb is off when the REVERB control is turned fully counterclockwise. You can select the reverb programs by holding down certain keys while turning the power switch on. nOTE: Hall 1 is the default reverb program. It is selected even if you don't press any keys when turning the power switch on. To select a reverb program, hold down one of the keys shown in the illustration while turning the power switch on. NOTE: You must hold the key down until a click is heard and then release it. Otherwise, the desired reverb program may not be selected. [. . . ] It will send MIDI instructions to your Silent Series grand piano, which will then play the resulting request. The Silent Series grand piano will respond to Note On and Note Off messages as well as controller messages for the three pedals. To play the demo songs you must engage Demo Song mode. To do this, hold down the B and C keys at the far right of the keyboard while turning the power switch on. [. . . ]
