Disconnecting the Silent Series grand piano from the power supply If you are not going to use the digital features of your Silent Series grand piano for some time (a week or more), or if you are leaving your home for a similar period of time, you should disconnect the AC adaptor from the AC (mains) supply. With the power switch turned off, the adaptor will consume a small amount of electricity. Unplug the adaptor from the outlet if you want to turn it off entirely. The power switch is used to turn the digital piano (and MIDI functions) on and off. You can connect two stereo headphones, allowing you to share your playing with another person. How to use your Silent Series grand piano Pull the Silent Lever towards you until you hear and feel the click as the mechanism catches. this engages the Grand Silent system , consisting of the hammer shank stopper and the Quick Escape mechanism. Now when you play your Silent Series grand piano, all you will hear is the quiet sound of the piano action. nOTE: The Silent Series grand piano has the normal pedal arrangement of a grand piano -- sustain (right) , sostenuto (center) , and shift (left). The functions of the pedals are the same when you play the piano electronically as when you play acoustically. When you want to disengage the Grand Silent system, gently pull the Silent Lever until the mechanism clicks again, then release it. The piano will sound again when you play it. Press the power switch on the front panel. While the Silent Series grand piano is on, the indicator in the switch will light up. When this switch is turned on, the digital piano can be played and MIDI data can be transmitted and received. These functions are not affected by the Silent Lever. Don't forget to turn the power off when you've finished playing your Silent Series grand piano. As with all electrical devices, it is a good idea to save electricity when you're not using the product. If you are only using one pair of headphones, plug them into either socket. nOTE: The headphones supplied with your Silent Series grand piano have been shown to give the best results.
