[. . . ] To select a reverb program, hold down one of the keys shown in the illustration while turning the power switch on. NOTE: You must hold the key down until a click is heard and then release it. Next time you use the digital piano, reselect the desired reverb program. Initially, the maximum number of notes that can be played simultaneously, with a stereo sampling sound, is 32 on the Silent Series piano. If you are playing a duet or a song with a lot of pedaling that exceeds the available polyphony, sustained notes may stop abruptly as new notes are played. Set the power switch to the off position. To set the polyphony, hold down the Middle C key while powering up the Silent Series piano, as shown (1, 2). NOTE: You must hold down the key until a click is heard and then release it. Otherwise, the polyphony setting may not stored. If you want to add reverb, hold down the appropriate "reverb" keys, as well as Middle C, as described on page 25. NOTE: The polyphony setting is not stored when the Silent Series piano is turned off. Next time you turn on the Silent Series piano, the default setting will be used. The pitch, however, can be adjusted in one hertz steps from 438 to 445 hertz (one hertz is about four cents). Different pitches are sometimes used in vocal music and orchestral performances. If you know the pitch that's required, use the PITCH switch to set the Silent Series piano beforehand. You'll need a small, flatblade screwdriver to adjust the PITCH switch, which is located on the left side of the Control Box, as shown. You can further fine tune the pitch using the keyboard to suit your particular application. The pitch can be tuned up or down 50 cents in 1. 2 cent steps (100 cents equals 1 semitone). This allows you to achieve a perfect tuning match between the Silent Series piano and another instrument, vocalist, or a slightly offspeed cassette player.
