Tool kit EUU18500 NOTE: If you do not have necessary tools required during a service operation, take your motorcycle to a Yamaha dealer for service. 7-2 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE/LUBRICATION EVERY ITEM ROUTINE · Check valve clearance. · Check idle speed/starter operation. · Check fuel hose and vacuum pipe for cracks or damage. · Replace (Warm engine before draining). Engine oil and oil filter element replacement a. Place an oil pan under the engine and remove the oil filler cap. 1. Remove the oil filter cover bolts, oil filter and O-ring. 1. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil. 7-7 1. Reinstall the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque. Tightening torque: Drain plug: 34 Nm (3. 4 m·kgf) f. Install the new oil filter, new O-ring and the filter cover. Tighten the oil filter cover bolts to the specified torque. Tightening torque: Oil filter cover bolt: 7 Nm (0. 7 m·kgf) EUU04101 NOTE: Make sure the O-ring is seated properly. Fill up the engine with the specified amount of recommended oil.
