The coolant level will vary with engine temperature. The coolant level is satisfactory if it is between the minimum and maximum marks on the tank. If the coolant level is at or below the minimum mark, fill with tap water (soft water) to bring the level up to the maximum mark. Have a Yamaha dealer change the coolant every two years. @ 11. It is switched on or off according to the coolant temperature in the radiator. @ @ Air filter The air filter should be cleaned at the specified intervals. It should be cleaned more frequently if you are riding in unusually wet or dusty areas. Lift the fuel tank upward and position it away from the air filter case. (Do not remove the fuel hoses. ) 6 6-12 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND MINOR REPAIR 1. Remove the screw holding the air filter case cover. Tap the air filter lightly to remove most of the dust and dirt. Blow out the remaining dirt with compressed air as shown. If the air filter is damaged, replace it. Reinstall by reversing the removal procedure.
