[. . . ] REFRIGERATOR ZC 85 L INSTRUCTION BOOKLET 2222 063-24 IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance for future reference. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is left with the appliance in order that the new owner can get to know the functioning of the appliance and the relevant safety information. This information has been provided in the interest of safety. You MUST read it carefully before installing or using the appliance. [. . . ] Locate the appliance in a cool well ventilated room and make sure that the air openings of the appliance are not obstructed. Always leave warm food to cool down to room temperature before placing in the fridge. Try to avoid keeping the door open for long periods or opening the door too frequently as warm air will enter the cabinet and cause the compressor to switch on unnecessarily often. Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the door from closing properly. It is advisable to peridocally clean the refrigeration system at the back of the appliance with a duster or vacuum cleaner. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Before any maintenance or cleaning work is carried out, DISCONNECT the appliance from the ELECTRICITY supply. Once or twice a year dust the condenser (black grill) and the compressor at the back of the appliance, with a brush or vacuum cleaner, see figure. Internal cleaning Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0. 5 litre of water). NEVER USE DETERGENTS, ABRASIVE POWDERS, HIGHLY PERFUMED CLEANING PRODUCTS OR WAX POLISHES, TO CLEAN THE INTERIOR AS THESE WILL DAMAGE THE SURFACE AND LEAVE A STRONG ODOUR. CONDENSER DEFROST TRAY COMPRESSOR D273 External cleaning Wash the outer cabinet with warm soapy water. An accumulation of dust will affect the performance of the appliance and cause excessive electricity consumption. When the appliance is not in use When the appliance is not in use for long periods, disconnect from the electricity supply, empty all foods and clean the appliance, leaving the doors ajar to prevent unpleasant smells. 8 Changing the light bulb Unscrew the light cover and then pull it outward toward the middle of the cabinet. Unscrew the bulb and replace it with a new 15 watt bulb (available from your nearest Service Force Centre). Replace the light cover by sliding it into its original position and replacing the screw. D411 Cleaning the filter The filter is held by two small support frames which press into position and are therefore easily removed for cleaning. To do this, turn the glass shelf upside down and release the frames as shown in figure. The filters and the glass cover can be washed gently in warm soapy water, they should not be put in the dishwasher. Replacement filters can be purchased as a spare part from your local Zanussi Service Centre. D711 Defrosting The refrigerator automatically defrosts every time the compressor stops. The water is discharged, via the pipe, into a tray located at the back of the appliance above the compressor, where it evaporates. Important To avoid defrost water overflowing into the fridge, periodically clean the water discharge hole in the centre of the V shaped drip collector at the back of the refrigerator compartment behind the salad crispers. The appliance has been used for normal domestic purposes only, and in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. The appliance has not been serviced, maintained, repaired, taken apart or tampered with by any person not authorised by us. All service work under this guarantee must be undertaken by a Zanussi Service Force Centre. Any appliance or defective part replaced shall become the Companys property.
