Electrical connection
Before you plug the appliance into an A. C. mains supply, make sure that the voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate correspond to your home supply. Use and features of the «CRISP'N FRESH» filter
The glass shelf on top of the vegetable drawer is fitted with a special filter called «CRISP'N FRESH» which ensures the correct amount of ventilation, and significantly D002 reduces the rate of food dehydration; vegetables therefore store better and keep longer.

Cleaning the filter
The filter is held by two small support frames which press into position and are therefore easily removed for cleaning. To do this, turn the glass shelf upside down and release D003 the frames as shown in the illustration. The filter may be washed in normal washing-up liquids. Do not place in dishwasher.
Freezing fresh food
Place the food to be frozen in the lower compartment of the freezer as this is the coldest part. The 4-star compartment ( ) is suitable for long term storage of commercially frozen food (i. e. for 3 months, unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer), and for freezing fresh food. Do not exceed the storage times shown by the manufacturer on the commercially frozen food packets. Under normal circumstances, to freeze fresh foods it is not necessary to change the setting of the thermostat knob with respect to the normal running position. However, for a quicker freezing operation, turn the thermostat knob to the coldest setting; but remember that, in this condition, the refrigerating compartment temperature might drop below 0°C. [. . . ] Important: A temperature rise of the frozen food packs, during defrosting, may shorten their safe storage life. Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off frost from the evaporator as you could damage it.

MAINTENANCE
Before all operations, disconnect the appliance from the mains.
Periods of non-operation
When the appliance is not in use for long periods, disconnect from the mains, empty and clean, leaving the door ajar to prevent unpleasant smells.
Internal cleaning
Clean the inside and accessories of the refrigerating compartment with warm water and sodium bicarbonate (one tablespoon in 4 litres of water). Clean the inside of the freezer compartment after each complete defrosting.
Interior light
The light inside the refrigerator compartment is easy to get at through the opening in the light holder. If the light does not go on when the door is open, check that it is screwed into place properly. [. . . ]
