[. . . ] Read this instruction manual carefully and follow the recommendations it provides to benefit from years of excellent service. The appliance which you have just purchased has been very accurately controlled throughout the entire manufacturing process. Nevertheless, should any problem arise during usage, whether it be during the warranty period, or when such period has expired, please contact your nearest Zanussi Service Centre immediately. The address and telephone number of this Centre can be easily found in the enclosed List or by looking in the telephone directory, under Zanussi. [. . . ] To adapt the appliance to other voltages, use an autotransformer having a minimum output of 500 VA. Important It is essential that the appliance be connected to an efficient earth tap. For this purpose the supply cable plug incorporates a special earth contact. If the sockets of your domestic wiring system are not grounded, have the appliance connected to a separate ground wire by a qualified electrician in accordance with the existing safety regulations. The manufacturer declines to accept any liability should this safety rule not be observed. 87/308 of 2. 6. 87 relative to radio interference suppression. This appliance complies with the following E. E. C. Directives: - 73/23 EEC of 19. 2. 73 (Low Voltage Directive) and subsequent modifications; - 89/336 EEC of 3. 5. 89 (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive) and subsequent modifications. Location Place the appliance away from all heat sources, such as: radiators, heating stoves, direct sunlight, etc. The best results are achieved with a room temperature ranging from +18°C to +38°C (class ST) or from +18°C to +43°C (class T). The class of your appliance is shown on its rating plate. Make sure that there is nothing at the back, at the top and at the bottom of the appliance to obstruct air circulation. The operation is interrupted by turning the control knob until its pointer coincides with symbol «O». Important If the ambient temperature is high, the thermostat knob is on the coldest setting (higher numbers) and the appliance is fully loaded, the compressor may run continuously, causing frost or ice to form on the evaporator. If this happens, turn the knob to a warmer setting (lower numbers) to allow automatic defrosting and so a saving in electricity consumption. Fresh food refrigeration To obtain the best performance: do not store warm food or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator; do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour. Position food so that air can circulate freely round it. Useful hints: Meat (all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shelf above the vegetable drawer. For safety, store in this way only one or two days at the most. Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc. . : these should be covered and may be placed on any shelf. Fruit and vegetables: these should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the special drawer(s) provided. Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or wrapped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as possible. Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle rack on the door. Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not packed, must not be kept in the refrigerator. 15 Movable wire shelves Fig. [. . . ] If the freezer is completely full and the power cut is short (up to 6-8 hours), frozen products will not be affected. Otherwise they should be used up very quickly or cooked and refrozen. Remember that, once thawed, frozen food deteriorates rapidly. Periodically clean the defrosting water drainage hole of the refrigerator, using the special cleaner already inserted into the discharge hole. 7 D037 Thawing Deep-frozen or frozen food, prior to being used, can be thawed in the refrigerator compartment or at room temperature, depending on the time available for this operation.
